Nordex Secures 46MW German Wind Farm Contract with 20-Year Service Deal

Nordex has secured a contract to supply and install eight N149/5.X turbines for the 46MW Tasdorf wind farm in northern Germany. The customer, Trianel Erneuerbare Energien, is an association of 36 municipal utilities and the Stadtwerke cooperation Trianel. The contract includes a 20-year premium service agreement, underscoring a long-term commitment to the project’s success.

Located in the Plön district of Schleswig-Holstein, the Tasdorf wind farm was developed by ABO Energy. Construction is set to begin in autumn 2026, with commissioning expected in spring 2027. Trianel is financing the project in cooperation with DKB and will operate the wind farm long term.

The turbines, mounted on tubular steel towers with hub heights of 105 and 125 meters, will be installed across the municipalities of Bönebüttel, Großharrie, and Tasdorf. The project is expected to generate an annual output of 110 million kilowatt-hours, sufficient to power more than 30,000 households with green electricity.

This development highlights several trends in the wind energy sector. First, it demonstrates the growing collaboration between municipal utilities and energy cooperatives to drive renewable energy projects. Second, the long-term service agreement suggests a shift towards ensuring the longevity and efficiency of wind farms beyond their initial construction. Lastly, the use of taller towers and more powerful turbines reflects the industry’s push to maximize energy output and efficiency.

The Tasdorf wind farm could influence future projects by setting a precedent for municipal-led renewable energy initiatives and emphasizing the importance of long-term maintenance agreements. As the energy sector continues to evolve, such projects may pave the way for more community-driven and sustainable energy solutions.
