Envision Energy to Deploy 50MW Battery Storage in Scotland

Envision Energy has inked agreements with Field to deploy two substantial battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Scotland, marking a significant step in the region’s renewable energy infrastructure. The company will supply lithium iron phosphate containerised BESS for Field’s Holmston and Drum Farm projects, each boasting a capacity of 50MW/100MWh. These systems are designed to deliver electricity to the grid, enhancing its stability and reliability.

Construction on the Holmston project in South Ayrshire commenced this summer, while work on the Drum Farm facility near Keith is set to begin in early autumn. Both projects are on track for completion by the end of 2026. This development underscores the growing importance of energy storage in supporting renewable energy integration and grid stability.
