MaxSolar, Greenvolt Power Team Up to Boost Europe’s Energy Storage

MaxSolar and Greenvolt Power are deepening their collaboration to bolster battery energy storage systems (BESSs) across Europe, a move that could significantly reshape the continent’s renewable energy landscape. The partnership, which combines Greenvolt Power’s substantial BESS expertise with MaxSolar’s local market knowledge, is already yielding tangible benefits, according to MaxSolar.

Representatives from both companies recently convened at MaxSolar’s headquarters in Traunstein, Bavaria, to solidify their strategic alliance. The collaboration is bearing fruit, particularly in the procurement of storage systems, leading to cost efficiencies, faster deployment, and scalable solutions that support a sustainable energy future.

MaxSolar CEO Christoph Strasser emphasized the shared vision of both companies, stating, “The ongoing collaboration once again highlights the close and trusting partnership between Greenvolt Power and us at MaxSolar. Our shared goal is to develop innovative storage strategies that not only drive the transition to a sustainable energy future but also contribute significantly to grid serviceability and flexibility.”

This partnership comes at a critical juncture for Europe’s energy sector. As the continent accelerates its shift towards renewable energy, the need for efficient energy storage solutions becomes increasingly paramount. The integration of BESSs into the grid can enhance flexibility, improve resilience, and support the decarbonization of the energy system.

Greenvolt Power COO Jacek Bladek underscored the strategic importance of battery storage, noting, “Battery storage is one of the fastest-growing and most strategic areas of Greenvolt’s business, already representing 4.7GWh scheduled to enter operation shortly within our extensive project pipeline. We see storage as essential to building a more flexible, resilient, and decarbonised energy system.”

The collaboration between MaxSolar and Greenvolt Power is poised to drive innovation in energy storage technologies, fostering a more sustainable and flexible energy grid. Their joint efforts could set a precedent for similar partnerships, accelerating the deployment of renewable energy solutions across Europe.

MaxSolar is currently developing its first grid-friendly storage solution in collaboration with Bayernwerk Netze in Bavaria, Germany. This project, along with Greenvolt Group’s recent success in Italy’s BESS auction, securing a 15-year indexed tariff for a 499MWh project, underscores the growing momentum in the energy storage sector.

As the energy landscape evolves, partnerships like this one will be crucial in shaping the future of renewable energy integration. The synergy between MaxSolar and Greenvolt Power not only highlights the potential for cost-effective and scalable storage solutions but also sets the stage for a more resilient and sustainable energy future in Europe.
