OX2 Expands Portfolio with Finland’s Soidinmäki Wind Farm

OX2 has taken on the asset management of Aquila Capital’s 38MW Soidinmäki wind farm in Finland, marking another step in the company’s growing portfolio of renewable energy projects. Under the agreement, OX2 will oversee technical, commercial, and financial management to enhance the wind farm’s performance.

Soidinmäki, situated in Central Finland, was constructed between 2022 and 2023 and began commercial operations last year. The facility comprises seven GE turbines with an estimated annual output of 126GWh, sufficient to power approximately 25,000 households. This addition to OX2’s management portfolio complements its existing oversight of Aquila Capital’s Korkeakangas, Tyrinselkä, and Ykspihlaja wind farms in Finland.

OX2’s expanding role in renewable energy management is notable. The company currently manages 1,262 wind turbines, along with solar farms and storage systems, boasting a combined capacity of 6.7GW. This growth reflects a broader trend in the energy sector, where specialized asset management is becoming increasingly crucial for optimizing the performance and longevity of renewable energy projects.

The agreement with Aquila Capital underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in the renewable energy landscape. As the sector continues to evolve, the ability to efficiently manage and optimize renewable assets will be key to meeting global energy demands sustainably. OX2’s expertise in this area positions it as a significant player in the ongoing transition to cleaner energy sources.
