Wipro, the AI-powered technology services and consulting giant, has inked a multi-year deal with Saudi Electric Company – National Grid SA to implement a smart meter data management (MDM) system. This initiative targets the modernisation of National Grid SA’s meter data platform, with the goal of boosting operational efficiencies and fortifying risk management.
Wipro’s role encompasses the design, development, implementation, and support of the infrastructure and smart applications tied to the new MDM system. The system is engineered to enable continuous monitoring, thereby enhancing grid stability through real-time data on power flow, voltage levels, and equipment status.

Consequently, National Grid SA can optimise power dispatch, trim operational costs, and minimise outages, ultimately enhancing the end-user experience.
