OX2 Expands in Poland with 51MW Solar Farm Project

OX2 has secured a contract to develop a 51MW solar farm in Poland, marking its third solar project in the country. The solar farm, located in the Pinczowski and Buski districts of Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship, is set to begin construction in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning planned between late 2027 and early 2028. Once operational, the farm is expected to generate around 55GWh of electricity annually, enough to power approximately 22,000 households.

This development comes on the heels of OX2’s success in Poland’s renewable energy auctions in December 2024, where the company won 205MW of capacity. This included a 40MW wind farm and a 165MW solar project. Additionally, OX2 secured a 200MW capacity obligation for two planned energy storage facilities during Poland’s 2029 capacity market auction.

The company’s expanding footprint in Poland’s renewable energy sector signals a growing trend of investment in solar and wind energy, as well as energy storage solutions. This trend is likely to shape the development of Poland’s energy landscape, driving the country towards its renewable energy targets and reducing its reliance on fossil fuels.

“Poland is increasingly becoming a key market for renewable energy development in Europe,” said a spokesperson for OX2. “Our projects in Poland are not only contributing to the country’s renewable energy goals but also creating jobs and stimulating economic growth in the regions where we operate.”

The development of the 51MW solar farm and other renewable energy projects by OX2 in Poland is expected to have a significant impact on the sector. It will likely encourage further investment in renewable energy, drive technological advancements, and create new opportunities for local communities. Moreover, the integration of energy storage facilities will be crucial in ensuring grid stability and maximizing the benefits of renewable energy sources.

As Poland continues to diversify its energy mix, the role of renewable energy companies like OX2 will be pivotal. Their projects will not only contribute to the country’s energy transition but also set a precedent for other European markets. The focus on solar, wind, and energy storage highlights a strategic approach to building a sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure for the future.
